摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance current-collecting capability of an electrode, even in a thick electrode plate and enhance a high rate discharge characteristic by forming a three-dimensional conductive network between hydrogen storage alloys carried in a metallic two-dimensional porous body. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage alloy is carried in a metal two-dimensional porous body such as punched metal, expanded metal, or a metal net by using a binder to form a three-dimensional conductive network. As the three- dimensional conductive network, any metal with high conductivity may be used, but from the standpoint of alkali resistance and price, nickel is preferable. By three-dimensionally forming the conductive network made of nickel between the hydrogen storage alloys, current-collecting capability is enhanced even in a thick electrode plate, and a hinge rate discharge characteristic is enhanced. This effect is conspicuous, when the thickness of the electrode is 0.6 mm or more and the mean particle size of the alloy is 50 μm or less.
