The special wheelchair blanket is cut like an apron at the top and is stitched in at the knee area (1) for a better fit. A lateral extension (2,6) of the blanket can be wrapped around the legs. The top straps (5) and the lateral extension (2,6) can be joined to the cover of the wheelchair with strips of Velcro(RTM). The blanket can be made of a waterproof or an insulating material which could additionally be fitted with a soft lining.
