PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stamper which is short in the time needed for an electroforming process and a rear-surface polishing process and can mold a resin substrate with nearly the same characteristics with a conventional stamper. SOLUTION: The stamper 1 has a top surface 2 and a rear surface 3 and also has a fine pattern formed on the top surface; and the Vickers hardness of the top surface is 200 to 250 Hv, the Vickers hardness of the rear surface is 80 to 150 Hv, and the mathematical mean roughness Ra of the rear surface is 30 to 80 nm.
