PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cartridge, which permits attachment and inspection of a non-contacting memory device in a state of lower half or elemental parts of a slider, in such a manner that a non-contacting tape memory device is hardly damaged by external force on the storage, conveyance and loading/unloading, is not in the way of loading/unloading, enables ensuring flexibility of design of a magnetic tape cartridge, and also flexibility of design of a data read/write device. SOLUTION: In this magnetic tape cartridge, a recording medium is housed in a cartridge case which is composed of an upper half and the lower half, and a slider is mounted slidably along the bottom surface of the lower half. In this magnetic tape cartridge, the non-contacting memory device is disposed on a recessed part which is formed on the upper surface of the slider, slidably contacting with the bottom surface of the lower half.
