PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw device which uncirculates a ball, wherein feeding operation is smoothly maintained for a long period of time by controlling the axial directional slip of the retainer without using a stopper. SOLUTION: The ball screw device is configured to apply pre-load to the ball 3 between a spiral grove 11 in a nut 1 and a spiral groove 21 in a screw shaft 2 so as to rotate the ball 3 without backlash. When the ball 3 reciprocates and rolls in accordance with a feeding operation, a delay in advancement is eliminated, thereby preventing a slip in the axial movement of the holder 4. Different from conventional cases, no stopper is required, and the occurrence of a previously encountered problem is prevented.
