SPIRAL ROD AND OVERHEAD POWER CABLE WITH SPIRAL ROD WOUND THEREAROUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral rod of which the terminal overlapped part does not expand in a lateral direction even if a construction apparatus such as an overhead vehicle travels on an overhead power cable with the spiral rod wound therearound, and which does not generate corona discharge associated with the traveling of the vehicle, and the overhead power cable with the spiral rod wound therearound.

SOLUTION: The spiral rod is constituted such that: continuous winding terminals are formed at both ends of each of a plurality of plate-shaped bodies of prescribed lengths and the plurality of plate-shaped bodies are overlapped with one another in the thickness direction; the overlapped plate-shaped bodies are integrally formed into a spiral shape; and the terminal of the spiral rod is overlapped with the terminal of the mating spiral rod to be connected, thus continuous winding is made possible.
