A method and an apparatus for detecting an abnormality of a power-load monitoring control system are provided to enable a manager to easily check an operation state of a terminal unit by using a detector for detecting a voltage or a magnetic field. A power control system includes a control terminal(200), a terminal unit(300), a power detector(100) and a manager terminal(400). A sensor for detecting a voltage or a magnetic field on a load line, which is connected to a load from the terminal unit, is included in the power detector. The power detector includes a sensor, a sensor controller, and a communication unit. The sensor detects a voltage or a magnetic field, which is induced on the load line of the terminal unit. The sensor controller generates a normal operation signal according to a sensed result from the sensor. The communication unit is connected to a network line, such that the signal from the sensor controller is transmitted to the control terminal.
