PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a (meth)acrylate (co)polymer by living anionic polymerization using at least one kind of monomer including a (meth)acrylate having a perfluoroalkyl group at the α-site of the hydroxyl group and its derivative.

SOLUTION: A (meth)acrylate (co)polymer having a perfluoroalkyl group at the α-site of the hydroxyl group is produced by carrying out living anionic polymerization using an alkyl vinyl ether, etc., in the presence of an alkyllithium and a mineral acid salt in a state to protect the hydroxyl group having a perfluoroalkyl group at the α-site with an acid-cleavable protection group and eliminating the protection group after the polymerization.
