PURPOSE:To obtain encephalon powder giving desirable effect to the growth of the brain of especially baby and child, and administrable as a food or medicine, by grinding the encephalon of an animal, adding an organic acid calcium salt thereto, and kneading, freeze-drying and pulverizing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:The encephalon of an animal is ground, added with an organic acid calcium salt, and kneaded to obtain a homogeneous mixture. The weight ratio of the calcium salt to the encephalon is 5-40%, preferably 10-20%. The mixture is freeze-dried and pulverized to obtain the objective product. The above organic acid calcium salt is preferably selected from the calcium salt of gluconic, lactic, citric, tartaric, malic, succinic and acetic acids. |
