PURPOSE:To enable the detection of photopower leaked through a core, by removing a part of a clad to cover the removed part with a refractive index matching material with the refractive index exceeding that of the clad. CONSTITUTION:A core 11 is n1 in the refractive index, a first clad 12 n2 and a second clad 13 n3 and the refractive index shall be n1>n2>n3. A part of the clad 13 with the refractive index of n3 is removed and the part is covered with a refractive index matching material 16 with the refractive index of n4. In this case, when the relation of n4>=n2 is met, light beam propagating through the clad 12 leaks into the refractive index matching material 16. The light 15 thus leaked is projected onto a light receiving surface of a photo detector thereby enabling the detection of light beam leaked to the clad 12 from a core 11 with a photosensor head. |
