<p>A footwear fastener for fastening an item of footwear having an opening for allowing adjustment of the footwear, and a plurality of eyelets arranged in two rows located on either side of the opening. The fastener comprises a two-part clip (2), the two parts (4, 6) being interengageable by at least one hook-like member on one of the parts (4) hooking onto the second of the parts (6). At least one elongate connecting strip (8) is integrally formed with one of said parts (6) and adjustably attached to the other of said parts (4), the connecting strip (8) being adapted to pass through two eyelets, one in each of said two rows, so as to secure said two eyelets together when the two parts (4, 6) of the clip are interengaged. The part (4) having the hook-like member is provided with a release member (26) which projects beyond the hook-like member and overlies a portion of the second part when the two parts are interengaged. The release member is arranged so that an upward pull on the release member by a user causes the hook-like member to disengage from the second part, thus allowing the two parts of the clip to separate.</p> |
