<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a radar used in cruise running. SOLUTION: In an FM-CW radar measuring the distance between vehicles with a continuous wave frequency-modulated for cruise controlling to keep the vehicle distance from the front vehicle constant, provided are a radar sensor 1 capable of switching the direction from toward front vehicle to toward the lower road surface with a constant interval, and a signal processor 2 frequency- analyzing the beat signal of output wave and reflection wave, by inputting the reflection wave from the radar sensor 1 facing downward, detecting uphill and downhill of the road based on the level height, frequency width and frequency value of peak frequency accelerating in advance in the case of detecting uphill, decelerating in advance in the case of detecting downhill and making cruise control possible for keeping the vehicles distance constant even on the slope.</p> |
