PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having a high recording density, excellent repetitive recording characteristics and improved corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This optical recording medium is formed by laminating a first protective layer 20 consisting of a ZnS.SiO2 layer, a recording layer 30 consisting of an Ag-In-Sb-Te layer, a second protective later 40 consisting of a ZnS.ZnO.SiO2 layer, an Ag-Cu reflection heat radiation layer 50 consisting of Ag and Cu as component elements and an environmental protective layer 60 consisting of a UV protective layer in this order on a polycarbonate substrate 10. The Ag-Cu reflection heat radiation layer 50 has a compsn. Ag(50 at.%)-Cu(50 at.%) and is in a compsn. range near the eutectic compsn. of an Ag-Cu system and, therefore, the structure form of the deposited Ag and Cu is dense and has high thermal conductivity. In addition, the grain boundary structure of the deposited Cu or Ag has high resistance to thermal impact accompanying the repetitive recording. |
