PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a feeding mechanism capable of surely feeding out paper moneys one by one and a paper money processing device which uses this feeding mechanism and is free from a jam of paper moneys. SOLUTION: This paper sheets feeding mechanism is provided with a feed roll 13 which feeds out paper sheets piled on a placing face, a gap roll 14 which controls paper sheets fed out by the feed roll and is rotated around the center line of rotation approximately parallel with that of the feed roll 13 and is so arranged that a prescribed gap exists between its outer peripheral face and the outer peripheral face of the feed roll 13, and a flexible piece 15 like a sheet whose one end is fixed in or near a plane, which passes the center line of rotation of the feed roll 13 and is approximately perpendicular to the placing face, and other free end is so arranged that is can be brought into contact with the feed roll 13, and the paper sheets processing device uses this paper sheets feeding mechanism.
