PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which gives resin-laminated articles having both improved taper abrasion resistance and improved bendability. SOLUTION: This coating composition is obtained by hydrolyzing and polycondensing a composition comprising (A) one equivalent of a condensable silicon compound having one or more epoxy ring-containing groups each bound to a silane and not separated by hydrolysis, or its preliminary hydrolyzate, (B) <=0.4 equivalent of a tetraalkoxysilane or it preliminary hydrolyzate, and (C) 0.01 to 0.4 equivalent of a hydrolysable compound containing one or more elements selected from the group consisting of Al, Ti, Zr and B. Preferably, the condensable silicon compound A, the tetraalkoxysilane B and the hydrolysable compound C areγ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, tetraethoxysilane, and tetra(2-butoxyethoxy)zirconium, respectively.
