PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic charge image developing toner having release property in a wide temperature range for from low-speed to high-speed image forming apparatuses, having excellent offset resistance, blocking resistance and fluidity, and resulting a high definition and high density image without fog. SOLUTION: The toner contains at least polyester resin, a colorant, a release agent, hydrophobic silica and titanium oxide. The cross section of the toner particle of the toner observed by use of a transmission electron microscope shows island-like dispersion of a wax component in the resin. The amount of wax near the surface is 2 to 10 wt.% with respect to the whole component of the toner measured by total-reflection IR spectroscopy. The volume average particle diameter (Dv) of the toner is 4.0 to 6.0μm, and the shape factor SF-1 of the toner particles is 140 to 200. The toner is favorably fixed with low electric power capacity.
