A terminal stud (1) has a shaft (2) and a foot for fixing the stud on a component, in which the shaft (2) has an outer surface which forms a contact surface for the fixture of a connection element and in which the outer surface of the shaft (2) is surrounded by a protective sleeve (8) which covers the contact surface and is movable in a position on the shaft (2) in which the contact surface is freely accessible.
