<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver that adjusts control between a built-in application and a downloaded application, and prevents a failure in resource control and a user's confusion. <P>SOLUTION: The receiver 100 comprises an operation mode control part 55 for switching the operation mode between a first mode in which a downloaded application provides a function and a second mode in which a built-in application provides a function, and a key distribution part 56 for distributing a key code received from a remote control to the downloaded application or the built-in application. When the receiver is in the first mode, and the received key code is a code for the first mode, the key distribution part 56 distributes the key code to the downloaded application. When the received key code is a code for the second mode, the key distribution part 56 distributes it to the built-in application.
