High DC voltage generator - using secondary transformer disc windings separated by rectifier diodes and plastic layer

High d.c. voltages are produced from a.c. or pulse voltages, esp. for TV sets, by a transformer with a sec. winding combined with rectifier diodes to form a multiplier unit. The capacitances of the latter are represented by the layer capacitances of the sec. winding which consists of several disc windings. These windings are arranged on one leg of the transformer core, sepd. by the rectifier diodes. The layers of each winding are pref. sepd. by polyester, polypropylene or polycarbonate foils. The result is that all capacitances are equal and the transformer output has a min. stray field. The new device is simple to mfr. and has precisely defined performance figures.
