PURPOSE:To enable to securely avoid danger in operating in the condition wherein a cover is opened, by a construction wherein a switch is provided which is turned ON and OFF in accordance with the opening and closing of a cover provided on the upper side of a recording part, and a driving voltage is supplied through the switch. CONSTITUTION:When the cover provided on the upper side of the recording part is closed, the switch 10 is turned ON, and a voltage supplied through an input port 11 is supplied to a head-driving motor 12 for pressing and separating a thermal head 4 from a platen, heating resistors 13 and a carriage-moving pulse motor 14. The motor 12 is driven through a transistor 16 by an up-down controlling signal supplied through an input port 15, heating is controlled by data signals supplied through an input port 17, and the rotation of the motor 14 is controlled by a carriage-driving signal supplied through an input port 19. On the other hand, when the cover is opened, the switch 10 is turned OFF, so that various dangers in operating in the condition wherein the cover is opened can be securely avoided. |
