PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device capable of forming an image without causing image defect even when a defective spot comes about on an image carrier by forming a toner image while keeping away from the defective spot on the image carrier, and capable of restraining the rise of the running cost. SOLUTION: Before forming an image, the position of a defective spot on a photoreceptor drum is previously stored in a storage means 52. The image signal of a test pattern where the image is formed to detect a defective spot is stored in the storage means 52. In this device. whether or not a defective spot exists on the photoreceptor drum is judged by making a control means 50 access the storage means 52 and confirming whether or not the position of the defective spot is stored in the storage means 52. In the case of judging that the image can be formed while keeping away from the defective spot, the control means 50 calculates a position where the image can be formed while keeping away from the position of the defective spot, that is, a shifting position (main scanning direction and sub scanning direction) from an ordinary image-forming area based on the position of the defective spot and the size of transfer paper where the image is to be formed. |
