PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel reformer capable of elongating the life of a desulfurization part. SOLUTION: This fuel reformer has a desulfurization part 1 for removing a sulfur component from raw materials and fuels, a reforming part 2 for producing a hydrogen-rich reformed gas from the fuel after desulfurization, a shift part 3 and a selective oxidation part 4, for reducing CO included in the reformed gas, and a combustion part 5 for supplying the heat to the reforming part 2. The desulfurization part 1 is arranged on the outer wall 6 of the fuel reformer so that the reduction of a desulfurization catalyst in the desulfurization part 1 may be carried out by utilizing the heat generated in the fuel reformer. The reduction of the desulfurization catalyst can be carried out by utilizing the heat generation in the fuel reformer in a state in which the desulfurization part 1 is additionally installed in the outer wall 6 of the fuel reformer. Air is prevented from being included in the desulfurization part 1 when connecting pipes for detaching and attaching the desulfurization part 1. |
