PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material that allow isotropic stretching and shrinking forces caused by the weight loaded on the sheet face and has high resistance to the surface damage of the sheet. SOLUTION: The high strength sheet material is produced by weaving high-strength warp-knitted fabric 2 into a nonwoven fabric sheet 1. In this case, the reinforcing warp knitted fabric 2 comprises reinforcing ground yarns 21 that form a plurality of rows of chain texture W, W or the like along the prescribed wale interval and reinforcing insertion yarns 22 that are woven in the chain textures formed by the reinforcing ground yarns 21 where individual reinforcing ground yarns 21 are chain-stitched whereby the chain textures W, W or the like are fixed to the nonwoven fabric 1, while individual reinforcing insertion yarns 22 that are woven in these chain textures W, W, or the like each are allowed to be swung every certain course and connected to the adjacent parallel chain textures W, W, or the like whereby the adjacent chain textures are bundled with the reinforcing insertion yarns 22 and the diamond mesh network M, M or the like are formed.
