PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head and a manufacturing method of the thin film magnetic head in which oxidation of a Cu layer of a lead conductor layer and a connection pad can be suppressed without increasing the number of processes. SOLUTION: This head is provided with a thin film magnetic head element, a lead conductor layer including a Cu layer connected electrically to the thin film magnetic head element, a connection pad layer including a Cu layer connected electrically to the lead conductor layer, and a resist material layer formed being adjacent to the Cu layer of the connection pad layer and the Cu layer of the lead conductor layer.
