A user authentication system and a control method thereof are provided to request a second password if the access environment of a user does not correspond to intrinsic environment data, thereby reinforcing security authentication considering the convenience of a user. A user authentication system comprises the followings: a first authentication DB(Database)(20); a second authentication DB(30); a first authentication processing unit(40) which provides a first log-in screen capable of inputting first log-in data if a user terminal(1) is connected to a server through a network(3), compares the first log-in data, transmitted from the user terminal, with an ID(Identification) and a first password, stored in the first authentication DB, and processes the first authentication according to whether the compared data correspond to each other; and a second authentication processing unit(50) which compares the access environment of the connected user terminal with intrinsic environment data stored in the second authentication DB, processes when the first authentication succeeds, and processes authentication as success, and generates a second log-in screen capable of inputting the second log-in data if the compared data do not correspond to each other, and provides the second log-in screen to the user terminal.
