PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of high speed data transmission by decreasing variations in voltage signals on differential signal lines and a transmission apparatus utilizing the receiver. SOLUTION: A first transistor M5, a first resistor R1, and a first reception bias transistor M7 are connected in series between a first input terminal T3 and a power terminal T5 to which a power supply voltage Vdd is applied. A second input transistor M6, a second resistor R2, and a second reception bias transistor M8 are connected in series between a second input terminal T4 and the power terminal T5. A differential amplifier AMP1 differentially amplifies first and second voltages Vx1, Vx2. A third voltage Vx3 is applied to the gate of the second input transistor M6 and a fourth voltage Vx4 is applied to the gate of the first input transistor M5. A reception bias circuit 16 applies a bias voltage Vbias 3 changed in response to the power supply voltage Vdd to the gates of the first and the second reception bias transistors M7, M8.
