The present invention relates to an apparatus for dry anaerobic digestion and a method for dry anaerobic digestion. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for dry anaerobic digestion includes: a thermal hydrolysis tank which thermally hydrolyzes food wastes by heating the food wastes; an acid fermentation tank which acid-ferments the hydrolyzed food wastes; a digestion tank which generates methane gas by methane-fermenting the acid-fermented food wastes; a stabilization tank which stabilizes digestion sludge generated from the methane-fermented food wastes; and an ammonia removal unit which removes ammonia components included in the digestion sludge, wherein an anaerobic digestion activating liquid is supplied to the acid fermentation tank.
