A mechanism for feeding closures from a stack comprises a pair of reciprocating slide bars 10, Fig. 1, and a pair of arms 13 which carry knives 18 and are pivoted about axes 15 by cams 16 running in tracks 11 in the slide bars 10. As the slide bars move to the right in Fig. 1, abutments 20 thereon move a closure which has been detached from the stack at 19 to a chuck 21. During this movement the arms 13 are pivoted inwards and the knives 18 detach another closure from the bottom of the stack. The slide bars move back to the left and the cycle is repeated.</p> |
