<p>1310382 Glucofuranosides MAGYARTUDOMANYOS AKADEMIA 7 April 1970 [10 April 1969] 16503/70 Heading C2C Glucofuranosides (some of which are novel) of Formula I: (in which R is optionally substituted benzyl, R<SP>1</SP> is C 1-6 alkyl and R<SP>2</SP> is H or R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> together form a cycloalkylidene group) are prepared by reacting D-glucose with a cycloalkanone in the presence of an acidic catalyst to form a compound of Formula II: (in which A is a cyoloalkylidene group), reacting the compound II with an acid to form a compound of Formula III; reacting the compound III with a benzyl halide in which the benzyl group is optionally substituted, and, if desired, reacting the resulting compound of Formula IV : with a C 1-6 alkanol in the presence of an acid to form a compound of Formula V: Compounds of Formulae IV and V have antiinflammatory activity.</p> |
