The battery holder for a wrist watch consists of a rectangular section tube (1) open both ends, with one side extended to form a hinge, and attached to the back (17) of the watch. When a new battery (3) is pushed into one open end, the old battery is ejected from the other open end. A space (2) under the top contains a resilient electrode (4) which pushes the battery down against a second electrode (5) inside the bottom. The whole can be swung open about the axis formed by the hinge for easy access for battery replacement. The whole fits into a recess in the watch, and a strap bent outwards from the top can be used to form a connection with the back of the watch.
