"TELESCOPIC TRUCK TOP OR CAR ASSEMBLY" Fixed cap shells are often engaged upon open truck bodies to form an enclosure for the protection and storage of materials carried within the truck or to convert the truck to a camper unit. These are often removed when an open truck body is required or when the truck is not being used for recreational purposes and this is inconvenient and difficult particularly when the truck body is relatively large. Furthermore when loading material onto trucks with the cap in places it is difficult due to the low head room provided and relatively tall loads cannot be loaded at all. The present top cap assembly overcomes these disadvantages by having a fixed forward portion and at least one rear sliding portion telescopically engaged within the fixed portion and movable from a stored position fully engaged within the fixed portion to a fully extended position when the truck body is fully enclosed. Tracks are provided along the top edges of the truck sides and sliders are provided on the lower sides of the cap walls engageable with the tracks to facilitate the sliding movement of the movable section or sections.
