The working conveyor web receives spaced film slides (10) sandwiched between a pair of foil bands (16,18) which are bonded together between the successive slides (10). Each of the latter is contained in a respective pocket. Pref. the two foil bands (16,18) are made of a transparent plastics supplied to the transport path for the slides (10) from two opposite sides, the bands joined together by thermal welding. The web containing the slides is pref. fed to a take-up reel (26) or a reception containing into which it is folded in a zig-zag configuration. Customer marking applied by a unit (24) can be in the form of a clear text, print code, coloured dots, perforations, etc. The necessary information is pref. received via a data line (31) from the preceding processing station. Sync. stepped control of the various stages can be provided from a central control (30) also connected to the drive motor (29). Position monitoring of the transparencies is ensured by light barriers (22,23) assigned to their edges and providing information for the control (30).
