In a bed with adjustable support sections, such as a back section 1, a seat section 2, a thigh section 3 and a leg section 4, in which the seat section 2 is designed to be moved towards the head end of the bed (to the left in the drawing), when the back section 1 is raised about a rocker axis 1b, the most important new feature resides in the fact that the thigh section 3 is also designed to perform a similar movement, but to a somewhat lesser extent, due to the use of arms 9c, 9d with different effective lengths. As a result, the movement of the thigh section 3 in relation to the seat section 2 takes account of the stretching of the seat and thigh muscles, which accompanies the raising of the back section 1, and therefore makes this movement less uncomfortable for the user of the bed. <IMAGE>
