<p>The invention relates to an apparatus (1) for collecting recyclable waste, such as glass, paper, cans and the like, also known as "ecological island", which automatically sorts the waste into respective containers (4,5,6,7) arranged in parallel rows. More specifically, the waste is brought by a user into one of the compartments (21,23) provided on a bridge (20) transverse to the rows of containers and movable back and forth thereabove; the bridge is then positioned above the container corresponding to the collected waste, which is then allowed to fall from above into the container itself.
