PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decompression device of an engine with a simple constitution, a saved space and excellent maintainability. SOLUTION: In a four-cycle single cylinder water cooling type engine 1, two exhaust valves 2 and two intake valves 3 are provided on a cylinder head 10; an exhaust pipe 24 is arranged at a front side part through an exhaust manifold 22 from a front side in a vehicle body direction of the engine toward below; a radiator 12 is arranged at a front side of the engine; and a decompression device 40 for facilitating cranking at the time of engine starting operation is arranged. A plug hole 10a is arranged at an approximately center of the cylinder head 10 and cam sprockets arranged on cam shafts 4a, 5a are arranged at one side of the cylinder head 10. The decompression device 40 is arranged at the other side of an opposite cam sprocket side of the cylinder head 10 and is arranged above the exhaust pipe 24 and at a rear side of the radiator 12.
