PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assessing terminal and an assessing method capable assessing the buying price of a used car properly and easily. SOLUTION: The terminal/method is provided with a car type database 30 obtained by relating the kind of a car with data written on an a vehicle inspection certificate, a market price database 31 obtained by relating the kind of the used car with a contract price at the market of the used car, a scanner 7 for reading the image of the vehicle inspection certificate of a car to be inspected, a data recognition means 20 for obtaining data written in the vehicle inspection certificate from the image of the vehicle inspection certificate, a means for specifying the car to be inspected 21 which specifies the kind of the car to be assessed from the data by referring to the database 30, a market price obtaining means 22 for obtaining the contract price of the specified kind of the car to be assessed from the database 31 and an assessing means 24 for assessing the buying price of the car to be assessed based on this contract price. |
