PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for accurately and simply measuring the slanted-end face angle of only the core surface of an optical fiber core which is a light-emitting part. SOLUTION: The refraction angle (θ4) of laser light emitted from a measuring end face is measured. According to the relation, sin(θ1)/sin(θ4+θ1)=n2/n1, where n1 is the refractive index of the core of the optical fiber core (9) and n2 is the refractive index of air, a slanted-end face angle (θ1) of the core of the optical fiber core (9) is determined. The measuring end of the optical fiber core (9) is passed through a hole, which is opened in a fiber collar (13), having inside diameter (Dw) which is larger than the outside diameter (Df) of the optical fiber core (9) by 10μm, and has a length in the axial direction of (Dw-Df)/tan(0.1°) or larger. By using the hole as a guide hole, the optical fiber core (9) is rotated to measure the size of at least a part of a circle or an ellipse described on a screen (14), by the outgoing light of the laser light from the measuring end face, the refraction angle (θ4) of the outgoing light of the laser light from the measuring end face is thereby measured.
