<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Scotch egg-like food characteristic in flavor and causing no burst when heated with a microwave oven, and to provide a method for producing such a Scotch egg-like food. <P>SOLUTION: The Scotch egg-like food is such one that lumps comprising finely chopped boiled egg are coated with dough containing livestock meat and/or fish-and-shellfish and fried. A Scotch egg-like frozen food is also provided, being such one that the above food is frozen. The method for producing the Scotch egg-like food comprises coating the lumps comprising the finely chopped boiled egg with dough containing livestock meat and/or fish-and-shellfish followed by coating the surface of the dough with batter and/or breader and then frying.
