The invention relates to a system for synchronous multimodal communication between a user and at least one data-processing unit (10), comprising one or more data inputs (2A, 2B) which are connected to data-acquisition means (4), one or more data-recovery means (6A, 6B) which are controlled by control means (8) and interface means (12) which are designed to provide data exchanges between (i) the processing unit (10) and (ii) the acquisition (4) and control (8) means. The invention is characterised in that the system comprises means (20) which are used to analyse the general status of the system and which are connected to means (30) for determining a system status datum, which are in turn connected to means (8) for controlling at least one recovery unit (6A, 6B) for the recovery of system status information.
