A method for setting preset by using a virtual map is provided to prevent a plurality of preset information from being repeated. A 3D(Three-Dimensional) virtual map image is displayed to designate a pan/tilt angle of a camera selectively. When an arbitrary one virtual map is selected from the displayed mage image, a pan/tilt angle corresponding to the virtual map is set as preset information of the corresponding camera. When a virtual map set as preset information beforehand of the virtual map image is repeatedly selected, a corresponding announcement message is displayed, or the repeatedly selected virtual map is displayed such that it is discriminated from a different virtual map. After the set virtual map is stored as preset information of the corresponding camera, a preset operation of the corresponding camera is controlled by using the pan/tilt angle assigned to the virtual map.
