The device (9) has a detecting unit for detecting operating voltage (U-B) that is applied to an electrical integrated circuit (IC) (3), where the device is an integral component of the IC to be initialized and is formed together with the IC in the form of a programmable logic component (8). A delay element is provided for delaying the applied operating voltage. An applying unit applies the delayed operating voltage to the IC as start-reset-signal (POR) by configuring the programmable logic component. The device is mobile or stationary and is operable by a battery or a network. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for automatic initialization of an electrical integrated circuit (2) an electrical integrated circuit comprising an unit for creating operating voltage.
