PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a safety apparatus appropriately by performing appropriate map matching at a fork in a road. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus 13 includes a navigation processing unit 22 for determining a travel road on which one's own vehicle exists out of the road data of a map data storage unit 23 on the basis of a position signal output from a present position detection unit 21 and a road shape recognition unit 65 for recognizing a lane line of a road on the basis of image data output from a photographing apparatus 16. The navigation processing unit 22 determines whether or not one's own vehicle is continuously traveling on the same road before and after one's own vehicle passes through a fork on the basis of the lane line recognized by the road shape recognition unit 65, and when it is determined that it is continuously traveling on the same road, prevents the travel road on which one's own vehicle exists from being changed from the travel road determined by this point of time into another road connected to the fork.
