1,193,042. Feeding and delivering sheets. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 25 April, 1968 [28 April, 1967], No. 19530/68. Heading B8R. [Also in Division G4] A device for conveying documents to and from a scanning station comprises two cylindrical members, which are rotated to feed and deliver documents respectively, each cylindrical member comprising a set of discs spaced apart along an axle, the two axles being parallel and separated by a distance less than the combined sum of the radii of the two cylindrical members, and the sets of discs being offset with respect to each other so that they are interleaved (Fig. 2, not shown). The general arrangement is illustrated in Fig. 1, wherein individual documents 1 are fed between feed rollers 2, 3 and into the nip of rollers 4, 5 where they are gripped by roller 4 and endless belt 6 which routes them to cylindrical feed member 7. The documents then pass through a guide frame 9 and scanning station, then between cylindrical delivery member 10 and endless belt 11 to sets of feed rollers 12, 13. A second scanning station may be incorporated between member 10 and rollers 12. The members 7 and 10 are rotated at the same speed as each other, while the endless belts 6, 11 also travel at the same speed, the drive optionally being supplied by the belts. |
