<p>The monitor is for the top station of a ski lift. A beam emitter (6) is positioned on the embarkation side of the ski lift. The emitter transmitts scanning beams (7) across the disembarkation area and its neighbouring area (3) to sensors (11-24), so that any persons present would interrupt at least one beam. There is a control unit to stop the traction cable (1, 2) when this is the case. A barrier (40, 41) in front of the entrance of the ski lift to the disembarkation area, reacts to passing persons, and renders the control active for a pre-determined period after the passage, but renders it inactive after this period. The time period depends upon the speed of the traction cable, and the distance between the barrier and monitored area (3). The time period is adjusted, so that the control definitely becomes inactive, when the person transported through teh barrier has reached the monitored area.</p> |
