A cover for an ironing board comprises a fabric layer metallised on one face and covered over the other face by a layer of resilient foam material about 3 mm thick. The exposed surface of the foam is covered by a hot melt adhesive. The cover is placed with the adhesive adjacent the board and bonded to the board by the application of heat and pressure by, for example, a hand held domestic iron, applied to the metallised face.
