For control of bed material amounts in an eddy layer combustion unit, a magazine container (11) is used, which is in open communication with the bed (10a) through a tap connection (20) at a level above its fluidising gas distribution plate (15). The container is connectable to the bed via a conduit (30), and to a further conduit (12) which feeds fluidising gas. - Further conduits (28,29) feed pressure gas to the container to brake the return transport of material to it, and to produce transport of material from it. Load minotors (19) in the container suspension (18) pass signals to a processor (38) which activates valves (26; 33-36) in the various conduits connected to the container, allowing the amount of material circulating in the combustion process to be controlled.(1) |
