PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having superior color reproducing characteristic causing small increase of fog by incorporating a specified Magenta coupler into one layer of a silver halide emulsion, incorporating also a metal complex having a specified quenching velocity constant of singlet term oxygen and a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:In at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion, there is contained a Magenta coupler expressed by the formula I, and a metal complex having >=3X10<7>, pref. >=1X10<8>M<-1>.sec<-1> quenching velocity constant of the singlet oxygen, and a compd. expressed by the formula II in the silver halide emulsion layer contg. the Magenta coupler. Preferred content of the metal complex in 1mol Magenta coupler expressed by the formula I is 0.5-1mol. The amt. of the compd. expressed by the formula II to be used is pref. 0.5-1mol per 1mol Magenta coupler expressed by the formula I. The proportion of the metal complex to the compd. II to be used in combination is pref. 1:3-3:1 by molar ratio. |
