PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a silicon nitride sintered product having an excellent surface appearance state, a high purity, a high density, a high strength and uniform characteristics without requiring a complicated device. SOLUTION: This method for producing a silicon carbide sintered product comprises a process for dissolving and dispersing silicon carbide powder and an organic substance or carbon powder as a carbon source in a solvent to produce the slurry-like mixture powder, a process for pouring and drying the slurry-like mixture powder in a mold to produce a green molded product, a process for bringing one end of a carbon fiber aggregate into contact with the green molded product in vacuum atmosphere or in an inert gas atmosphere, and immersing the other end of the carbon fiber aggregate in metal silicon melted at 1,450-1,700 deg.C to impregnate the melted metal silicon into the pores of the green molded product through the carbon fiber aggregate by a capillary phenomenon, and a process for reacting the impregnated silicon with free carbon in the green molded product to produce the silicon carbide, and filling pores in the green molded product with the produced silicon carbide. |
