Thin mineral fibre components, method and mould for making same by vacuum suction

The invention concerns in particular a mould comprising a wall (2) permeable to the mineral fibre suspension medium, characterised in that said wall permeability increases from the mould lower part to its upper part. Said mould is useful in the method for making mineral fibre components which consists in immersing the mould in the fibre suspension while applying a vacuum inside the mould. Said mould enables to compensate the variation in retention time in the suspension between the mould lower and upper parts and to obtain thin parts (2 to 6 mm), of truncated or other shape, with substantially uniform thickness.
