PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL INCREASING LONG WAVELENGTH LIGHT HAVING HIGH SENSITIVITY FOR EYE USING SHORT WAVELENGTH BLUE LIGHT

A plasma display panel is provided to achieve improved luminance and efficiency by increasing long wavelength light having a high sensitivity for human eye through the use of short wavelength blue light. A plasma display panel comprises a front panel(FP), a back panel(BP), a filter set(66), and a transmitting-reflecting unit(62). The front panel includes a front glass substrate(64), a discharge sustain electrodes, a bus electrode, an upper dielectric film(60), and a protective film(58). The back panel includes a back glass substrate(50), an address electrode(51), a lower dielectric film(52), barrier ribs(54), and a phosphor layer(56). The filter set is arranged in front of the front panel. The transmitting-reflecting unit is interposed between the protective film of the front panel and the filter set, and has a high reflectivity with respect to the light of a first wavelength and a high transmissivity with respect to the light of a second wavelength longer than the first wavelength.
